Flaxseed have a seed coat that is hard to digest. It is recommended that whole flaxseed be ground in a coffee grinder or food processor to break the seed coat so that they can be digested fully. However, ground flaxseed develops a rancid/metallic flavor if you store them for too long and the process of grinding and storing the seeds is not convenient.
FlaxPro Premium Flaxseed are 100% natural, READY TO EAT and do not require grinding before consuming. We use a patented process to make premium-quality flaxseed brittle so that it breaks down easily during the chewing and digestion process. There is no nutrient loss during this process. In fact, FlaxPro seeds have 6% more nutrients and a higher nutrient availability because of less moisture and better digestion than regular flaxseed. FlaxPro Premium Flaxseed are a Natural Source of Omega-3 Fatty Acids, Beneficial Fiber, Lignans and Protein.
Brown flaxseed are grown more commonly than golden, but provide the same nutritional benefits. Our own experience is that the shell of the golden flaxseed is slightly softer than the brown.
